Artifact Moralltach

Artifact Moralltach was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2014 Primal Origin booster set, designed as part of the Artifact archetype. These cards are thematic, depicted as ethereal, ancient weaponry that can be set in the Spell & Trap zone and then special summoned to the field upon being destroyed by an opponent. The design intent focuses on a reactive, disruptive playstyle that punishes opponents for targeting backrow cards.

This specific iteration, card number SDBT-EN019, is a common rarity reprint featured in the 2023 Structure Deck: Beware of Traptrix. While the archetype's high-impact control capabilities led it to be a staple in competitive play during its prime, the inclusion of Moralltach in this Traptrix-themed structure deck provided newer players with an accessible way to utilize the card’s signature effect, which allows the player to destroy one face-up card the opponent controls when the monster is special summoned during the opponent's turn.
