Axe Raider

Axe Raider was originally introduced in the early days of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, debuting in the Metal Raiders set. As a Level 4 Earth-Attribute Warrior monster with 1700 ATK, it served as a quintessential 'beater' during the game's formative years, providing players with a reliable offensive presence when high-level monsters were difficult to summon. Its design reflects the aesthetic of the series' early bestiary, emphasizing a fantasy-warrior archetype that defined the meta-game before the introduction of more complex card effects.

The version from Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World, identified as LCJW-EN007, was released as part of a compilation set designed to celebrate the iconic cards associated with the character Joey Wheeler. While Axe Raider had long since been superseded by monsters with higher attack points or utility, its inclusion in this reprint collection served as a nostalgic tribute to the original card pool. The design remains faithful to its classic illustration, maintaining the straightforward, aggressive stance that made it a staple in beginner decks during the early 2000s.
