Bazoo the Soul-Eater

Bazoo the Soul-Eater was released in the Labyrinth of Nightmare booster set, which debuted in the North American TCG market in 2002. As part of the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, the card reflects the aesthetic and mechanical design trends established by Konami to mirror the high-fantasy and supernatural themes of the original manga series. The card features artwork characterized by the bold, aggressive linework common to early-2000s card illustrations, intended to visually convey the monster's predatory nature.

Mechanically, Bazoo was designed as a strategic resource for Earth-attribute decks, introducing a cost-based banishing mechanic that rewarded players for managing their graveyard. During its initial release, the card was received as a versatile mid-game attacker, valued by players for its ability to temporarily boost its own attack power. Its status as a Super Rare in the Labyrinth of Nightmare set made it a desirable pull, marking it as a distinct piece of the era's competitive landscape.
