Berserk Gorilla

Berserk Gorilla was introduced in the Invasion of Chaos expansion, which debuted in North America in 2004. This set is widely regarded by enthusiasts as a pivotal moment in the history of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, as it introduced high-impact cards that dramatically shifted the competitive landscape toward a faster, more aggressive style of gameplay known as the Chaos format.

The card was designed as a high-attack, low-cost beatstick, reflecting the aesthetic and mechanical design trends of early 2000s Konami card design. Its artwork features a primitive, rage-filled primate, consistent with the thematic focus on aggressive creatures in the set. While it was not a centerpiece like the titular Chaos monsters, it became a staple in many deck lists of the era due to its reliable 2000 attack points, which allowed it to overcome common defensive monsters of that time.
