Blackwing - Mistral the Silver Shield

Blackwing - Mistral the Silver Shield was released in 2010 as part of the Duelist Pack: Crow, a specialty booster set designed to highlight the deck utilized by the character Crow Hogan in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's animated series. This card was introduced during the height of the Blackwing archetype's competitive dominance, a period characterized by the release of numerous support cards intended to provide the Synchro-focused deck with greater versatility and defensive utility.

The card features an illustration consistent with the aesthetic of the Blackwing series, which emphasizes avian-themed warriors depicted in dark, armored attire. Designed by the creative team at Konami to function as a Tuner monster with a protective effect, Mistral was created to allow players to negate damage once per turn. While it saw play as a budget-friendly or utility option in various Blackwing builds, it is generally regarded as a standard common rarity card, serving as a functional piece within the broader, highly popular Blackwing meta-game of the late 2000s and early 2010s.
