Blackwing - Gust the Backblast

Blackwing - Gust the Backblast was released as part of the 2010 Duelist Pack: Crow, an expansion set specifically dedicated to the Blackwing archetype popularized by the character Crow Hogan in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's animated series. The set was designed to provide players with accessible versions of the cards used by Crow, reflecting his aggressive, swarm-based playstyle that defined the Blackwing deck's competitive era during the late 2000s.

As a common rarity card, this monster was intended to serve as a functional utility piece within the archetype, allowing for easy special summoning when the player controlled other Blackwing monsters. The design mirrors the aesthetic of the series, featuring a feathered, bird-like warrior consistent with the dark, aeronautical theme of the deck. Upon its release, it was well-received by players seeking to bolster their deck's consistency and speed without the high cost associated with the set's higher-rarity chase cards.
