Brain Control

Brain Control was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game during the early GX era, initially arriving as a powerful spell card that allowed players to pay 800 life points to gain temporary control of an opponent's monster. The card was designed to shift momentum in competitive play by enabling tribute summons or direct attacks using the opponent's own resources, reflecting the high-stakes tactical shifts seen in the animated series.

The version found in the Starter Deck: Syrus Truesdale, cataloged as YSDS-EN031, was included as part of a pre-constructed deck intended to help newer players learn the mechanics of the game. While the card's artwork features a simple, ominous motif of a masked figure, its mechanical influence became so significant that it eventually necessitated errata and adjustments to its activation requirements to maintain balance within the evolving format.
