Chaos End

Chaos End was originally released in the 2004 expansion set Invasion of Chaos. It was designed to synergize with the 'Chaos' archetype that dominated the competitive landscape of the era, requiring players to banish a significant number of Light and Dark monsters to clear the field. The card reflects the high-risk, high-reward design philosophy prevalent in early Yu-Gi-Oh! card game mechanics, aiming to provide a dramatic board-wiping effect that could swing the momentum of a duel.

The Dark Revelation Volume 2 set, which includes this specific print (DR2-EN036), was released in 2005 as a reprint collection intended to make powerful and popular cards from the Invasion of Chaos and Ancient Sanctuary sets more accessible to the player base. By reissuing Chaos End as a common card within this compilation, Konami ensured that players could acquire this situational board removal tool without the scarcity associated with its original Secret Rare print, though it remained a niche choice in competitive side decks due to its restrictive activation cost.
