Where it came from
The Comic Hand spell card was released in 2015 as part of the Dragons of Legend 2 set, a supplemental collection designed to bring cards featured in the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series into the physical trading card game. This specific card represents the signature magic utilized by the character Maximillion Pegasus, known for his Toon archetype which focuses on transforming standard monsters into whimsical, cartoon-styled versions of themselves.
The card was designed to support the Toon strategy by allowing a player to take control of an opponent's monster and treat it as a Toon monster. It reflects the aesthetic and thematic flair of the series, where Pegasus utilized his 'Toon World' to disrupt opponents. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the series and players looking to modernize the long-standing Toon deck archetype, with its secret-rare rarity making it a sought-after aesthetic centerpiece for collectors.
