Constellar Pollux

Constellar Pollux was introduced in the Duel Terminal 7a booster set, released during the height of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Terminal arcade era. The set focused on the climactic battles within the Duel Terminal world, a complex overarching narrative that saw various warring factions unite against the threat of the Vylon and the emerging Evilswarm invasion. Pollux, based on the mythological Greek twin of Castor, was designed as a key play-maker for the Constellar archetype, serving as a celestial warrior tasked with defending the light.

The design of the card emphasizes its role as a support monster, featuring art by the Konami design team that aligns with the constellation-themed aesthetic of the Constellar lineage. By allowing an additional Normal Summon, the card was engineered to facilitate rapid Xyz Summoning, which was the primary mechanical hook of the Zexal era of the game. It was well-received by players for its consistency and effectiveness in stabilizing the Constellar deck, cementing its status as a staple for fans of the archetype.
