Constellar Praesepe

Constellar Praesepe was introduced in the Duel Terminal 7b expansion, a set that served as a narrative culmination for the complex Duel Terminal lore. The card reflects the thematic aesthetic of the Constellar archetype, which draws inspiration from constellations and celestial bodies. Designed by the Konami creative team, these monsters were crafted to feature sleek, armored silhouettes that emphasize a sense of divine or cosmic authority within the game’s overarching storyline.

The card was released during a period when the game was shifting toward faster, more aggressive Xyz Summoning mechanics. As a Rank 4 monster requiring two Level 4 LIGHT monsters, Praesepe was developed to provide Constellar players with a tool for offensive pressure through its ability to boost its own attack power. Upon its release, it was well-received by players seeking to optimize their Constellar decks, valued for its utility in breaking through defensive boards during competitive play.
