Where it came from
Dance Princess of the Nekroz was released in 2014 as part of the Secrets of Eternity set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This card belongs to the Nekroz archetype, a theme deeply rooted in the lore of the Duel Terminal world. The Nekroz monsters are characterized by their ritual summoning mechanics, which involve wearing the armor of fallen monsters from previous sets to gain their powers.
The design of the card reflects the aesthetic of the Nekroz warriors, blending fantasy armor with traditional Japanese motifs. As a rare card within the set, it served as a utility piece for Nekroz decks, specifically designed to protect ritual spells and monsters from disruption during combat. Players and collectors appreciated its role in supporting the consistency of one of the most competitive archetypes of the era.
