Dark Scorpion - Cliff the Trap Remover

Dark Scorpion - Cliff the Trap Remover was introduced in the 2003 expansion set Magician's Force as part of the Dark Scorpion archetype. This group of monster cards was inspired by the narrative of Don Zaloog, a recurring antagonist in the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game lore, depicting a band of thieves working under his command. The artwork, characterized by the distinct, edgy aesthetic typical of the era's card designs, reflects the theme of sabotage and stealth common to the archetype's playstyle.

The card was designed by the Konami development team to facilitate tactical disruption, allowing players to pay life points to remove trap cards from the field. Like many cards in the Magician's Force set, it was intended to add depth to the game's evolving competitive meta. Upon release, it was widely available as a common card, serving as a functional tool for deck builders seeking specific utility rather than the prestige associated with ultra or secret rare cards.
