Dark Summoning Beast

Dark Summoning Beast was released in the 2020 Structure Deck: Sacred Beasts, a set designed to modernize the support for the trio of powerful monsters first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series. This card was specifically engineered to facilitate the difficult summon of cards like Uria, Lord of Searing Flames, Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder, and Raviel, Lord of Phantasms, by allowing a player to tribute it to special summon one of these titans from the hand or graveyard while ignoring its summoning conditions.

The design of the card leans into the dark, mythological aesthetic synonymous with the Sacred Beast archetype. As a common rarity card, it served as a functional piece of utility rather than a collector's showpiece, aimed primarily at players looking to build a consistent and competitive deck around these iconic boss monsters. Its arrival was met with appreciation by fans of the GX era, as it addressed long-standing mechanical challenges that had historically made the original monsters difficult to play in a faster game environment.
