D/D Gryphon

D/D Gryphon was introduced in the 2022 expansion Battle of Chaos as part of the long-running D/D archetype within the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. This set was designed to bolster various existing themes with new support, and the D/D collection specifically focuses on monsters that utilize both Pendulum and Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz mechanics to overwhelm the opponent. The creature itself draws inspiration from mythological chimeras, fitting the archetype's thematic reliance on historical and legendary figures.

The design of the card reflects the aesthetic standards of Konami’s late-era Pendulum monsters, featuring an intricate, busy art style that emphasizes the character's avian and demonic features. As a Super Rare card, it was distributed within the standard booster pack print run, intended by the game's design team to provide players with a crucial consistency piece for D/D decks. Upon its release, it was well-received by competitive players for its utility in searching out other signature spells within the engine, cementing its status as a staple for dedicated duelists.
