D/D/D Stone King Darius

D/D/D Stone King Darius was introduced in the Maximum Crisis booster set, released in the West during the spring of 2017. As part of the D/D/D archetype, this card represents a crucial evolution in the strategy centered on the character Declan Akaba from the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime series. The design mirrors the series' theme of combining different summoning mechanics to overwhelm opponents, with this specific monster functioning as a Rank 3 Xyz threat that provides the deck with essential removal and resource management capabilities.

The card was illustrated with the series' signature dramatic aesthetic, emphasizing the D/D/D line's fusion of historical, mythological, and business-themed imagery. Upon release, it was received as a utilitarian addition for fans of the archetype, offering players a way to navigate field obstacles through its ability to detach materials to destroy opposing cards. Its status as a Rare in the Maximum Crisis set made it a staple for players looking to complete their Extra Deck toolkits without the high acquisition barrier of higher-rarity chase cards.
