Zoodiac Hammerkong

Zoodiac Hammerkong was introduced as part of the Maximum Crisis booster set, released in 2017 during the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V era. It belongs to the Zoodiac archetype, a series of Earth-attribute Beast-Warrior monsters that became infamous in competitive play for their unique ability to Xyz Summon using only a single monster as material. This design choice fundamentally shifted the game's mechanics, allowing for rapid board establishment and consistent playstyles.

The card was illustrated to fit the theme of the Chinese zodiac, with Hammerkong representing the monkey. While many of the Zoodiac monsters served as essential engines in top-tier tournament decks of the period, Hammerkong was primarily utilized as a utility piece within the archetype's extended combos. As a common rarity card, it was widely accessible to the player base, serving as a functional, grounded element within a set defined by its powerful impact on the competitive meta.
