Derk, Longing for the Blue Skies

Derk, Longing for the Blue Skies was released in the Burst Protocol expansion as part of the trading card game's ongoing effort to broaden the tactical variety of the BPRO set. Designed during a period focused on diversifying creature types and secondary effects, the card functions as an effect monster intended to provide utility in specific board states. Its illustrative style reflects the series' signature blend of character-driven fantasy, prioritizing readability and thematic cohesion for players.

The card was developed by the game's central design team to fill a specific mechanical niche within the Burst Protocol environment. It was received by the community as a standard common-rarity utility piece, valued more for its functional role in budget-friendly decks than for collectibility. The design, centered on the character's evocative pose and thematic connection to the 'Blue Skies' lore, aligns with the broader artistic standards established for this card cycle.
