Desert Locusts

Desert Locusts (CHIM-EN082) was introduced as part of the Chaos Impact booster set, released by Konami in late 2019. This set was designed to bolster various archetypes within the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, often building upon themes from the VRAINS era of the franchise. As a Synchro Monster, it fits into the broader mechanical framework of the game that requires players to combine Tuner and non-Tuner monsters, a mechanic that has remained a central pillar of strategic play since its introduction in the 5D's era.

The card features an illustration consistent with the insect-themed mechanical designs common to many Konami monster sets. While Desert Locusts does not belong to a top-tier competitive archetype, its design reflects the ongoing commitment to diversifying the card pool with niche tactical tools. Like many common-rarity cards from the era, it was intended primarily for pack filler to support local gameplay environments rather than high-level tournament meta, serving as a functional piece for collectors interested in completing their Chaos Impact sets.
