Designer Frightfur

Designer Frightfur was released in the 2016 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, a compilation set designed to reprint high-value cards from the previous year of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. This card specifically belongs to the Frightfur archetype, which is centered around the twisted, mechanical toy-themed monsters used by the character Sora Perse in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime series. The design aesthetic draws heavily from the concept of 'dark whimsy,' blending traditional stuffed animals with sharp, metallic weaponry and industrial components to emphasize the sinister nature of the Fusion Summoning strategy.

The card functions as a support trap, intended to provide utility for the Frightfur deck by manipulating the graveyard and field presence of the archetype's members. As a common rarity reprint in the 2016 Mega-Tin, it served to make the Frightfur strategy more accessible to casual players following its debut in the Crossed Souls expansion. While the card did not shift the competitive meta, it remains a notable piece of late-era ARC-V card design, reflecting the game's focus on elaborate, story-driven monster themes during that period.
