Deskbot 001 was originally introduced as part of the Secret Forces expansion in 2015, later finding a home in the 2020 Structure Deck: Mechanized Madness. Designed as a low-level Machine-type monster, it serves as the foundational engine for the Deskbot archetype. The design aesthetic centers on small, modular robotic components, reflecting a creative team effort to build a deck based on the concept of collective synergy where individual cards gain significant power when grouped together.

The card was received by the player community as a vital piece of combo utility, particularly valued for its ability to special summon itself from the graveyard whenever a Machine-type monster is special summoned to the field.
