Deskbot Base

Deskbot Base was introduced as part of the Shining Victories booster set, released in the West in 2016. It serves as the Field Spell card for the Deskbot archetype, a series of Earth-attribute Machine-type monsters characterized by their interconnected design aesthetic and swarm-based gameplay mechanics. The card was created to provide the theme with essential consistency by allowing players to return cards from their hand to the deck to draw new ones, while also acting as a scaling buff for the monsters based on the number of Deskbot cards present on the field.

The art and functionality of the card align with the Deskbot theme's visual motif of sentient, modular office supplies and technological components. Like many common cards from the era, it was designed primarily to support the playability of the specific archetype rather than to serve as a high-value collector's piece. The card received a modest reception among competitive players who utilized the Deskbot strategy, though it remains primarily recognized as a functional utility tool within the broader catalog of mid-2010s Yu-Gi-Oh! spell cards.
