Detonate

Detonate was originally released in the TCG as part of the 2010 Hidden Arsenal booster set, an English-language compilation that drew from several Japanese Duel Terminal sets. This card was designed to support the 'Barrel Dragon' archetype, specifically focusing on the destruction mechanics associated with the coin-toss monsters that define the theme. By allowing a player to destroy a monster based on the success of a coin flip involving a machine-type monster, it functioned as a niche utility card intended to bolster the offensive capabilities of machine-based decks during that era of play.

The visual design of the card captures the explosive, industrial aesthetic central to the Hidden Arsenal sets, which prioritized high-foil finishes to distinguish the cards from standard expansions. Like many cards from this period, its reception was primarily driven by its utility within specific monster-heavy strategies rather than competitive meta-dominance. As part of the Hidden Arsenal run, it is frequently noted by collectors for its distinctive Super Rare foiling, which gives the artwork a textured, reflective quality characteristic of the set's production style.
