Dimension Gate

Dimension Gate was first introduced as a common card within the Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants set, released by Konami for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set was specifically designed to replicate the experience of playing the Battle City tournament arc from the original manga and anime, focusing on high-impact monsters and simplified gameplay mechanics intended for draft-style play.

The card’s illustration and mechanical design were developed by Konami’s internal card design team, maintaining the aesthetic standards of the era’s modern support cards. It functions as a Continuous Trap that allows for the temporary banishment of a monster to protect it or reset its effects, a tactical utility that became a staple for players looking to evade targeted removal. It was received primarily as a functional tool for competitive drafting rather than a centerpiece of collector interest.
