Dimension Gate

Dimension Gate was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game through Battle Pack 3: Monster League, a set designed by Konami to facilitate a unique drafting and sealed-play environment. Released in 2014, the card functioned as a tactical tool within the game's mechanics, allowing players to banish a monster they control and then special summon it back to the field when the trap card leaves the area, offering a way to reset monster effects or protect key pieces from removal.

The card's design aesthetic and utility reflect the broader focus of the Battle Pack series, which emphasized versatility and complex interactions over the power-crept archetypes of the main expansion sets. As a common rarity card, it was distributed widely to ensure accessibility for players participating in the pack's specific draft format, where the ability to manipulate field states was critical for success. It was received as a functional, strategic utility card that rewarded players for timing their defensive plays effectively.
