Dragon's Rage

Dragon's Rage was released in 2005 as part of the Dragon's Roar Structure Deck, a set designed to introduce new players to Yu-Gi-Oh! through a dragon-themed strategy. This deck capitalized on the enduring popularity of dragon-type monsters by providing a cohesive, ready-to-play foundation that focused on high-attack power and aggressive board control. The card itself was created to function as a support tool for these decks, allowing players to capitalize on monsters with lower defensive capabilities by dealing piercing battle damage.

The card’s design reflects the early aesthetic of the trading card game, featuring a tactical trap effect common to the middle-era of the franchise. It was illustrated to evoke the raw, destructive power associated with dragon creatures, a theme that defined the visual language of the set. Upon its release, the card served its purpose as an accessible utility piece for beginners, though it eventually saw limited competitive play as more specialized support cards were introduced to the game.
