Reckless Greed

Reckless Greed was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2004 Structure Deck: Dragon's Roar, a pre-constructed product designed to provide players with a functional strategy centered around the Fire attribute and Dragon-type monsters. The card, a Normal Trap, functions by allowing a player to draw two cards at the cost of skipping their next two Draw Phases, introducing a high-risk, high-reward mechanic that has remained a staple in combo-oriented decks for its ability to generate rapid card advantage.

The card features an illustration depicting a greedy, goblin-like figure reaching toward a hoard of gold, visually capturing the essence of the game's high-stakes economy. It was designed to force players to weigh the immediate benefit of hand replenishment against the long-term detriment of stalled resource growth. Since its debut in the Dragon's Roar set, the card has seen numerous reprints across various booster packs and special editions, reflecting its enduring utility as a tool for tactical players who prioritize speed and momentum in competitive dueling.
