Dragunity Angusticlavii

Dragunity Angusticlavii was released in 2011 as part of the Hidden Arsenal 4: Trishula's Triumph set. The card was designed to support the Dragunity archetype, a series of Dragon-type monsters that revolve around a unique equip mechanic where smaller monsters attach themselves to larger ones to boost their capabilities. This release brought the core Dragunity strategy to Western audiences, providing players with the necessary pieces to build competitive decks based on the synchro-summoning mechanics of the era.

The artwork for the Dragunity series was crafted to emphasize a fantasy theme blending draconic elements with medieval weaponry. In the context of the game, Angusticlavii functions as a key facilitator for high-level plays by allowing the player to special summon itself when a specific Dragunity monster is equipped to it. Upon its debut, the card was well-received by players focusing on the archetype for its ability to increase the consistency and aggression of their board setups during the game's mid-syncro era.
