Where it came from
Evil HERO Infernal Rider was introduced in the 2024 booster set Supreme Darkness, expanding upon the Evil HERO archetype originally debuted in the Duelist Pack: Jaden Yuki series. These cards were designed to revisit the aesthetic of Jaden Yuki's corrupted cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series, reimagining classic Elemental HERO monsters with a darker, more aggressive visual identity that reflects the influence of the Supreme King.
The design of this specific card maintains the iconic silhouette of the HERO lineage while incorporating the signature demonic, armored motifs associated with the Evil HERO sub-theme. By including it in the Supreme Darkness set, the designers aimed to provide modern support for decks focused on Fusion Summoning through Dark Fusion, ensuring that legacy strategies remain functional within the current meta game for long-time collectors and players.
