Exploder Dragon

Exploder Dragon first debuted in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game during the mid-2000s, originally appearing in the Tactical Evolution expansion set. The card was designed as a strategic piece intended to punish high-attack monsters, utilizing an effect that forces a mutual destruction if it battles an opponent's monster. Its design reflects the game's evolving mechanics of the era, where developers sought to introduce low-level monsters capable of trading favorably against more powerful threats.

The specific version appearing in Speed Duel Tournament Pack 5, marked as STP5-EN011, was released as part of the specialized Speed Duel format. This format was curated to provide a streamlined, fast-paced version of the traditional game, often reissuing classic cards with updated templates or rarities to support tournament play. As a Super Rare iteration, this print features a distinctive holographic foil finish, serving as a collectible reward for participants in organized play events.
