Fallen of Albaz

Fallen of Albaz was first introduced in the Rise of the Duelist booster set in 2020, serving as the central protagonist of an expansive, multi-year narrative arc known as the Abyss storyline in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The character was designed as a pivotal engine for Fusion Summoning strategies, featuring an effect that allows players to utilize their opponent's monsters as material. This mechanic turned the card into a staple of competitive play, as it offered a unique way to turn the tide against established field presences.

The Ultimate Rare iteration appearing in OTS Tournament Pack 19, released in 2022, represents a premium version of the card distributed exclusively to official tournament stores. These cards are noted for their distinct textured foil treatment, which highlights the intricate, dark-fantasy aesthetic created by the Konami design team. By the time of this release, the card had been firmly established as a cornerstone of the Despia and Branded archetypes, and its inclusion in the OTS line was intended to provide dedicated tournament players with a high-rarity collector's piece celebrating the character's long-running influence on the meta game.
