Faustian Bargain

Faustian Bargain was released as part of the Speed Duel Starter Decks: Twisted Nightmares set, which hit shelves in 2021. Designed to bring the fast-paced, streamlined gameplay of the Speed Duel format to iconic cards from the early Yu-Gi-Oh! era, this card reflects the gothic and dark themes curated for the set. It serves as a nod to the Duel Monsters anime, specifically referencing the dramatic and high-stakes supernatural encounters that defined the series' early tone.

The card's design maintains the classic aesthetic of the TCG, focusing on clear, functional utility within the Speed Duel card pool. By allowing players to special summon a Ritual Monster from their hand at the cost of discarding one card, it captures the risk-reward dynamic central to the Faustian literary tradition from which it draws its name. As a common rarity card, it was crafted to be an accessible tool for players looking to incorporate ritual summoning mechanics into their decks without the need for complex ritual spell requirements.
