Favorite Contact

Favorite Contact was released in the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set Power of the Elements. It serves as a dedicated support card for the Elemental HERO archetype, specifically designed to facilitate the fusion summoning of monsters that require specific materials, such as Elemental HERO Neos. The card acts as a callback to the high-stakes dueling style of Jaden Yuki from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series, providing players with a thematic method to bypass traditional resource costs by shuffling materials from the field, graveyard, or banished zone back into the deck.

The card's design emphasizes the synergy between the Elemental HERO series and the Neo-Spacian monsters, reflecting an evolution in how the archetype functions within the modern meta. Illustrated with imagery evocative of the bond between HERO characters, it was received by the player base as a significant utility tool for fusion-heavy strategies. While it was initially sought after by fans of the GX era for its nostalgic value, its mechanical efficiency in setting up board states also garnered attention from competitive players looking to optimize their HERO-themed decks.
