Fear from the Dark

Fear from the Dark was originally introduced in the early 2000s during the burgeoning popularity of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. It was designed as an Undead-type monster featuring an effect that allowed it to be special summoned from the graveyard if it was sent there by an opponent's card effect, a mechanic intended to punish aggressive discard or removal strategies prevalent in the competitive meta of that era.

The version from the Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World Mega Pack, designated LCJW-EN193, serves as a reprint that maintains the card's original aesthetic and functionality. This collection was curated to honor the signature deck themes of Joey Wheeler from the anime series, offering players a nostalgic retrospective of cards that defined the mid-2000s playstyle. The design, characteristic of the era's dark fantasy art style, was created by the Konami design team to evoke a sense of supernatural threat consistent with the game's recurring themes.
