Fusion Gate

Fusion Gate was first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a rare spell card in the 2002 set Metal Raiders. Designed as a field spell card, it allowed players to perform fusion summons without the need for the Polymerization spell card, provided they removed the materials from play instead of sending them to the graveyard. This mechanic offered a strategic alternative for fusion-based decks, emphasizing a trade-off between board presence and graveyard utility.

The version included in Turbo Pack: Booster Six, released in 2011, featured the card as a common rarity. Turbo Packs were distributed primarily through organized play programs, serving as tournament prize support to help players acquire staple cards. As a tactical card, Fusion Gate has been consistently noted for its influence on combo-oriented decks, particularly those that thrive on banishing mechanics, remaining a recognizable utility card throughout the game's competitive history.
