Gateway to Dark World

Gateway to Dark World was introduced in the Structure Deck: Dark World, released by Konami in late 2022. This set served as a modern revitalization of the Dark World archetype, a fan-favorite series originally debuting in the mid-2000s that focuses on discarding cards to trigger powerful secondary effects. The card was designed to improve the consistency and resource management of the deck by facilitating the summoning of high-level Fiend-type monsters.

As a common rarity card, it was crafted to be highly accessible to players looking to build or update their decks. Its illustration aligns with the established aesthetic of the Dark World realm, featuring dark, ethereal architecture that signals a transition into the sinister dimension where these creatures reside. Upon release, it was well-received by the competitive community for its ability to search for key pieces of the Dark World engine, effectively streamlining the deck's complex discard-heavy playstyle.
