Getsu Fuhma

Getsu Fuhma was originally released as an Ultra Rare card in the 1999 Japanese set Metal Raiders. It is a direct homage to the protagonist of the 1987 Konami action-adventure game Getsu Fuuma Den. The card's design features the character wielding his signature weapon, reflecting the aesthetic of the Famicom-era dark fantasy title. It was included in Western releases to introduce players to various legacy Konami intellectual properties during the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game.

The Dark Revelation Volume 2 set, which includes the card DR2-EN090, was released in 2005 as a comprehensive reprint collection intended to make previously rare cards more accessible to the competitive player base. By reissuing Getsu Fuhma as a common, Konami shifted the card from a collector's novelty to a utility piece. While the card's effect—which destroys Fiend and Zombie monsters upon battle—was considered situational, it remains a notable example of Konami's history of cross-promoting its own video game library within the card game's framework.
