Ghostrick Mary

Ghostrick Mary was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Shadow Specters booster set in 2013, before being reprinted as a Super Rare in the 2014 Mega-Tin Mega Pack. The Ghostrick archetype was designed to emphasize a playful, gothic aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Halloween tropes and horror-comedy films. The cards feature a signature mechanic where monsters hide by flipping themselves face-down, reflecting the 'trick or treat' theme of children hiding in shadows.

The artwork for the Ghostrick series was crafted to provide a distinct visual identity within the game, blending whimsical creature designs with a dark, muted color palette. As a card within the 2014 Mega-Tin, it served to increase the accessibility of the archetype for players who favored defensive, control-oriented strategies. It was received favorably by the community for its utility in searching the deck, securing its place as a staple component for any player building a dedicated Ghostrick deck during that era.
