Gilford the Legend

Gilford the Legend was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a promotional card for the World Championship 2010 event. It was specifically released within the World Championship 2010 Card Pack, a set designed to commemorate the competitive spirit of the game’s global tournament circuit. This release allowed players to acquire high-rarity versions of iconic monsters, framing Gilford as a cornerstone of the 'Warrior' archetype that relied on strategic field setup to activate powerful effects.

The card features artwork depicting the titular warrior in ornate, heavy armor, rendered in the high-fantasy aesthetic typical of Kazuki Takahashi’s original series. The design emphasizes the character's status as a legendary commander, aligning with its effect which requires the player to sacrifice three monsters to gain a significant attack boost. While players valued its role in aggressive deck builds, it is remembered by collectors today as a distinct piece of tournament-exclusive history from the late 2000s era of the game.
