Vampire Genesis

Vampire Genesis was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a promotional card, later appearing as part of the World Championship 2010 Card Pack. This release was tied to the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship, an annual premier event held by Konami to celebrate the highest level of competitive play within the community. The inclusion of this card in the pack provided attendees and collectors with a thematic piece that reflected the game's evolving meta-game and the enduring popularity of undead-type monsters.

The card features an illustration consistent with the dark, gothic aesthetic established by the Vampire archetype in the early 2000s. Designed to function as a powerful boss monster, its mechanics rely on the tribute of a Vampire Lord, a nod to the classic graveyard-recursion strategies prevalent at the time of its design. While the card is often viewed as a collector's piece rather than a staple in modern competitive play, its status as a World Championship-related release makes it a notable memento of the 2010 tournament cycle.
