Provenance

Where it came from

Gimmick Puppet Little Soldiers was introduced in the 2024 expansion set The Infinite Forbidden as part of a dedicated wave of support for the Gimmick Puppet archetype. This series is heavily inspired by the character IV from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime, drawing on his theatrical and slightly macabre aesthetic. The card serves as a specialized engine piece, designed to facilitate the rapid summoning and graveyard manipulation required for the deck's high-rank Xyz playstyle.

The design of the card leans into the creepy, marionette-themed imagery synonymous with the Gimmick Puppet line. As a common rarity card, it was produced to be easily accessible for players looking to update their decks following the release of new support. It reflects the broader design philosophy of modern Yu-Gi-Oh! sets, where legacy archetypes are periodically granted new tools to remain competitive in changing tournament environments.
