Gimmick Puppet Nightmare

Gimmick Puppet Nightmare is a member of the Gimmick Puppet archetype, a machine-type engine first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal era. The archetype is defined by its eerie, marionette-inspired aesthetic and its focus on Rank 8 Xyz Summoning. Designed to reflect the sinister stage-craft of the character Quattro, these cards embody a theme of mechanical horror and dark performance, intended to overwhelm opponents through aggressive special summoning.

The card was released as part of the Battles of Legend: Chapter 1 set, a reprint collection designed to provide players with accessible versions of popular and high-utility cards. In its competitive context, Nightmare is valued specifically for its ability to special summon itself and a fellow Gimmick Puppet from the deck, though it imposes a strict restriction that locks the player into using only Gimmick Puppet monsters for the remainder of the turn. This limitation defines its role as a specialized tool for specific Xyz-heavy combos.
