Gladiator Beast Andal

Gladiator Beast Andal was originally introduced during the GX era of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, specifically debuting in the Gladiator's Assault set in 2007. As a level four normal monster, it was designed as a core component of the Gladiator Beast archetype, which introduced a unique tag-out mechanic that allowed players to swap monsters during the battle phase to trigger powerful effects. The design features a bipedal, armored feline warrior, consistent with the Greco-Roman gladiatorial theme established for the archetype by Konami's creative team.

The version specified, LCGX-EN223, was issued as part of the Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years Mega Pack in 2011. This collection was intended as a retrospective set, reprinting iconic cards from the GX-era anime and competitive meta to make them accessible to a new generation of players. While the card lacks the tactical utility of the archetype's effect monsters, it became a frequent inclusion in later iterations of the deck due to its status as a normal beast-warrior, allowing for specific support interactions that effect monsters could not utilize.
