Gladiator Beast Dareios

Gladiator Beast Dareios was released as part of the Magnificent Monsters set, continuing the long-standing tradition of the Gladiator Beast archetype within the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Originally debuting in the Gladiator's Assault set in 2007, the archetype is defined by its tag-out mechanics, which simulate the tactical rotation of combatants in a Roman arena. Dareios was designed to modernize this playstyle by integrating the Link Monster mechanic, allowing players to bridge classic synergy with contemporary field control.

The card's design aesthetic leans heavily into the Greco-Roman visual language associated with the set, featuring intricate armor plating and aggressive, beast-like features consistent with the theme's creator intent. As an Ultra Rare, it was crafted with a high-gloss finish intended to distinguish its presence on the battlefield. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional utility piece for dedicated Gladiator Beast enthusiasts, serving as a specialized tool for players looking to maintain board presence through the deck's signature rapid-tagging sequences.
