Gladiator Beast Laquari

Gladiator Beast Laquari was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Gladiator's Assault expansion in 2007. The archetype was designed to emulate the tag-team mechanics of Roman gladiatorial combat, where monsters would retreat to the deck to summon reinforcements, reflecting the historical rotation of fighters in an arena. This specific iteration, TU01-EN017, was released in the 2009 Turbo Pack: Booster One, a set distributed primarily through official tournament stores to support the competitive organized play scene.

The artwork follows the fantasy-inspired aesthetic prevalent in the series, depicting a beast-warrior character clad in stylized gladiatorial armor. Like many cards in the Gladiator Beast series, it was illustrated to emphasize a sense of martial readiness and ferocity. Upon its release, the card was widely utilized in competitive deck builds, as its ability to increase its own attack power upon successful combat made it a fundamental component of the archetype’s aggressive strategy during that era of the game.
