Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest

Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game during the mid-2000s, debuting as an Ultra Rare card in the Force of the Breaker set. It was designed to synergize with Beast-type decks, offering a powerful recurring effect that allowed players to special summon it from the graveyard whenever another Beast-type monster they controlled was destroyed. The card’s design reflects the game's ongoing focus on type-specific support, leaning into a rugged, forest-guardian aesthetic that emphasizes physical strength and defensive utility within the game's evolving meta.

The version included in Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World Mega Pack, designated LCYW-EN165, served as a common-rarity reprint of this established card. By the time of this collection's release, the card had already become a staple in specific competitive circles due to its ability to maintain board presence. The Mega Pack served to make such powerful, high-demand cards more accessible to a broader audience of players and collectors, repackaging key historical cards from the franchise's history alongside iconic imagery associated with the series' protagonist.
