Gunkan Suship Shari

Gunkan Suship Shari was originally introduced in the core set Lightning Overdrive in 2021 as part of the Gunkan archetype, a creative collection of cards themed around sushi-inspired warships. The design blends traditional culinary art with nautical machinery, presenting the Shari—the vinegared rice base—as a literal vessel that facilitates the deployment of various topping-based support monsters. It serves as the essential engine for the entire archetype, relying on its status as a level 4 Normal Monster to enable specific summoning conditions.

This particular printing appeared in the 2022 Tin of the Pharaoh's Gods, a commemorative product designed to reprint popular cards from previous core sets. The Super Rare treatment offered in this tin provided a foil finish that highlights the clean, minimalist aesthetic of the card's artwork. The archetype as a whole is frequently noted by players for its whimsical yet surprisingly cohesive mechanical design, which successfully balances the visual novelty of sushi-ships with standard competitive gameplay utility.
