Gusto Griffin

Gusto Griffin was released in the North American market as part of the Hidden Arsenal 7: Knight of Stars booster set. This set served as a compilation that introduced various archetypes from the Japanese Duel Terminal arcade machine series to the global trading card game audience. As a member of the Gusto archetype, the card fits into a broader narrative of wind-attribute monsters that focus on thematic recursion, often triggering effects when sent to the graveyard.

The card’s illustration follows the aesthetic established by the Duel Terminal lore, depicting the creature in a style consistent with the vibrant, high-fantasy design language of the set. Its mechanical role in the game was designed to facilitate board presence through specific summoning conditions, a hallmark of the Gusto engine. Upon its release, it was received primarily as a functional utility piece for players dedicated to the Gusto strategy rather than a ubiquitous staple in the competitive meta.
