Heavy Freight Train Derricrane

The Heavy Freight Train Derricrane was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2019 as part of the set The Infinity Chasers. This booster set was designed to bolster specific archetypes, most notably the Infinitrack theme, which focuses on high-level Earth Machine monsters. The card reflects the industrial aesthetic common to this series, depicting a heavy-duty crane that fits the mechanical, construction-based motifs established in earlier sets like Dragons of Legend.

The artwork and mechanical design follow the long-standing tradition of Machine-type cards in the game, emphasizing brute force and synergy with other high-level monsters. As a Super Rare card, it was crafted to provide players with a strategic way to special summon high-level units, thereby facilitating Xyz plays. Upon release, it was well-received by competitive players for its utility in Earth Machine decks, where it serves both as a recurring special summon and a form of targeted removal when detached as an Xyz material.
