Mythical Beast Jackal King

The Mythical Beast Jackal King was introduced as part of the 2019 expansion set, The Infinity Chasers. This set was designed to introduce and support several archetypes, most notably the Mythical Beast series, which centers around a mechanics-heavy playstyle that rewards players for activating spell cards by generating spell counters. The card serves as a pivotal boss monster for these decks, providing a crucial disruption effect that allows players to negate their opponent's monster effects by removing counters from the field.

The card’s design reflects the established aesthetic of the Mythical Beast archetype, which blends high-fantasy imagery with a color palette characterized by vibrant magical auras and intricate, armored creature designs. As a pendulum monster, the card embodies the complexity often found in late-era Yu-Gi-Oh! mechanics, requiring players to manage both its role as a monster on the field and as a utility card in the pendulum zone. Upon its release, it was well-received by competitive players for its efficiency and its ability to act as a reliable defensive backbone in counter-based strategies.
